Michael S Virgil

Mr. Virgil is the head of our Employee Benefits practice. In addition to a broad-based general corporate practice, he offers extensive experience in employee benefits and tax issues, including the design, administration and termination of various employee benefits plans and representation of both individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service on income tax, payroll tax and employee benefits matters.

Mr. Virgil is licensed to practice in all Illinois state courts, the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois and the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Virgil holds a B.A., with distinction, from Valparaiso University, which also awarded him a J.D. degree in 1967. He served as an Executive Editor of The Valparaiso University Law Review and also served as a Teaching Associate at Valparaiso University School of Law. He is the author of "Chapter 19: Withholding Tax'" in Illinois Tax Service, Matthew Bender, 1985.

Mr. Virgil is a former Trustee of the Village of Bartlett and a member of The Chicago Bar Association's Committee on Employee Benefits.
