Mr. Voris concentrates his practice in litigation and corporate law. In litigation, he represents clients in the banking and financial services industry in a variety of actions involving securities and commodities complaints, employment, customer/broker and industry disputes, raiding and regulatory matters; banks in lending and regulatory controversies; partnerships and corporations in governance issues, executive/employment matters; and businesses in financing and transactional disputes.
In the corporate area, he has provided strategic business planning counsel to established financial firms as well as entrepreneurs, corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. He has advised both closely held and publicly traded businesses in a wide range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, capital investments and employment issues.
Mr. Voris has litigated cases in state and federal trial courts, as well as in the appellate and supreme courts, and has represented clients before alternative dispute resolution forums, including the New York Stock Exchange, FINRA, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, JAMS and the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Voris holds an A.B., cum laude, from Boston College (1976) and was awarded his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law (1979), where he was an Editor of The DePaul Law Review.
