Patricia Carlson focuses her practice at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella on corporate and tax issues affecting a wide range of corporations, with a specialization in not-for-profit organizations. She represents corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies on incorporations, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations, bond financings, leases, employment agreements, and contracts. She also works with exempt entities on risk management policies, confidentiality of records, tax exemption, private inurement, unrelated business income, and sales tax. She frequently speaks on these and related topics before various educational and civic groups. Ms. Carlson's comprehensive article on tax and other laws affecting nonprofit organizations in Illinois was published in The Exempt Organization Tax Review.
