The Firm’s Karen Kavanagh Mack was appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association’s recently created section council that addresses food law and its increasingly specialized practice area.

This fast-evolving area of law addresses legal issues that impact a cross section of industries and issues ranging from agriculture and farmers to the regulation of food trends and food innovation, as well as sustainability and intellectual property.

“The ISBA’s new Food Law Section will help keep members current on food law, policy issues and trends across the US,” says Mack. “I am thrilled to be part of this new effort, especially given the vital role played by food production, food processing and related technologies in the Illinois economy.”
