Profile

Kara Bufalino is an associate in Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella's Corporate, Health Care and Real Estate groups. Ms. Bufalino earned her B.A. in English, cum laude, and her Teacher Education Certification from the College of the Holy Cross in 2010 and her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of John Marshall, from the John Marshall Law School in 2014.

During law school, Ms. Bufalino served as the Articles Editor of The John Marshall Law Review and was a board member of the Professionalism & Engagement Student Advisory Board. She was also a judicial extern for a magistrate judge at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Experience

  • Assists commercial and not-for-profit clients in the purchase and sale of commercial properties
  • Supports municipal client with land management through drafting and negotiating licenses and agreements for land usage
  • Represents real estate developer in the sale of newly constructed homes in the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs
  • Represented real estate consulting firm in the purchase of four medical office buildings located in Ohio
  • Drafted a variety of agreements and contracts for the development of a South Carolina horse park
  • Regularly drafts and reviews agreements, amendments, consents, and resolutions for a variety of clients and a wide-range of transactions

  • Ms. Bufalino has previously participated in the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago’s “Lawyers in the Classroom” program, teaching children about our judicial system through a mock trial.
  • Ms. Bufalino is a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
  • Ms. Bufalino is a member of the Loyola Academy Bar Association and serves as a mentor in the Loyola Academy College Mentor Program.
  • Ms. Bufalino is on the Associate Board at the Legal Prep Charter Academy.
