About The Role:

 

Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join our growing Insurance Recovery Practice Group representing policyholders. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience at a law firm or in-house handling complex insurance coverage disputes. This candidate will have significant familiarity with insurance policies and coverage determinations, in addition to strong legal research and writing skills, and experience in all phases of litigation including depositions, hearings and trials. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters while building and maintaining client relationships in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Representing policyholder clients in all phases of insurance coverage disputes.
• Advising clients on the scope of available insurance coverage and identifying ways to address insurance coverage denials or limitations.
• Drafting coverage correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Appearing at depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and in court.
• Supporting clients as they seek to recover insurance proceeds they are owed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility for admission via waiver.
• 4-6 years of insurance coverage experience at a reputable law firm or in-house position.
• Preferred experience working with CGL, D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Professional Liability, Property, and/or Cyber Insurance Policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation: $175,000–$190,000, plus eligibility for a productivity bonus, origination bonus, and profit sharing.
