Aaron Stanton Discusses Complications With Cook County Eviction Process in WGN Investigates Special Report

Aaron Stanton, Chair of Burke Warren’s Litigation practice group, provided insight into the Cook County eviction process in a recent WGN Investigates special report on the impact of foreclosures and squatter situations in neighborhoods across the city and suburbs.

In an investigation regarding a home that fell into foreclosure and was subsequently sold in a judicial sale in southwest suburban La Grange, Aaron highlights the often-protracted eviction process and its effects on tenants and nearby residents. “The problem is the eviction process itself is just too long in Cook County,” Aaron said. “If the eviction process could happen in a month, it wouldn’t be so painful.”
