Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. is proud to recognize the appointment of Alexander D. Marks to the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility for a three-year term, beginning on January 1, 2026. “I am very honored to have been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the Committee for Professional Responsibility,” Alex said. “I look forward to working with the distinguished attorneys and judges on the committee to continue to strengthen the legal profession and our justice system."
The Supreme Court of Illinois formed the Committee on Professional Responsibility in 1978, with the aim to provide recommendations to the Court related to specific standards of conduct and disciplinary rules to govern all practicing Illinois attorneys. Since the Committee’s initial report in December of that year, and with the Code of Professional Responsibility being put into effect July 1, 1980 (now the Rules of Professional Conduct), the Committee has been responsible for reviewing requests for amendments and additions, and making recommendations to the Court on those requests. The Committee is made up of Illinois judges and attorneys dedicated to maintaining the integrity and competence of the legal profession in the state.
