Alexander D. Marks Elected as President of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers in 2025
Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella is pleased to announce that Alex Marks will be installed as President of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, America’s oldest Jewish bar association, at their 91st Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on July 31. Timothy Evans, the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, will swear Alex in as President of Decalogue’s Officers and Board of Managers for 2025-26 at the installation, at which time Decalogue will also recognize several honorees, including Governor J.B. Pritzker.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be installed as President of Decalogue and continue its mission to uphold the highest standards of the legal profession, foster relationships within the Jewish legal community, and work to combat antisemitism and all forms of hate and discrimination,” said Alex. “I’m also proud to honor the accomplishments of our amazing outgoing President, Joel Bruckman, and celebrate an incredible slate of distinguished honorees as we continue to promote justice in society and to advance and improve the law.”
A Partner at Burke Warren, Alex represents major corporations, not-for-profit organizations, mid-sized companies, and family-owned businesses in employment matters, complex commercial litigation, and civil litigation. Alex is also an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, serving as a Commercial Litigation, Consumer Disputes, and Labor and Employment panelist. In addition, Alex is the Chair of the Firm's Pro Bono Committee and devotes significant time representing indigent clients in a variety of pro bono matters. Alex received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with high honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 2001. He was awarded his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in May 2004, where he was awarded the Rickert Award for excellence in oral advocacy and trial advocacy.
