The American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) hosts yearly competitions between February and April to help develop leadership, public speaking, rhetoric, and persuasion in undergraduate students. AMTA is the governing body for intercollegiate trial advocacy competition. and the organization sponsors regional and national-level competitions including approximately 700 teams from over 400 universities and colleges. The National Championship Tournament included the top 48 teams in the country.

On Apr. 21, AMTA featured its final round of competitions in Chicago in the Great Hall at Union Station. Burke Warren Partner, Nick Gowen was selected to be the event's closing session keynote speaker.
