Brittany A. Martin

Brittany is an Associate at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C., where she defends clients in employment matters and represents businesses and individuals in a broad range of commercial litigation.

Whether a small to medium-sized business or high-net-worth individuals, Brittany works to achieve the best outcome for her clients. She also works with the firm’s many auto dealership clients with whatever legal disputes may arise for them. She has experience handling pre-litigation disputes and preparing cases for trial – and everything in between.

Brittany understands that litigation can be stressful, and with a pragmatic and strategic approach to litigation she works closely with clients from early case assessment through discovery (including written discovery and depositions), motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She has experience handling cases in both state and federal courts; in arbitration; and in administrative agencies such as the EEOC, Illinois Department of Human Rights, and the Illinois Motor Vehicle Board.

Prior to joining the firm, Brittany served as a judicial law clerk for two federal judges. That experience provided her with substantial knowledge of Federal Rules and Procedure and strong instincts on how a legal dispute should move. She draws on this background to provide clients with clear practical advice tailored to their specific strategic goals.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys exploring Chicago’s vibrant food scene with her partner, Austin, and spending time with their two cats, Rocky and Ollie. Be sure to ask her for a restaurant recommendation.
