Nia Crosley is an Associate at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. Nia concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, wealth transfer, and trust and estate administration. Her background includes assisting clients with economic issues such as identity theft, tax disputes, consumer law, and access to federal benefits.
During her Tax LL.M. program at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Nia earned a certificate in Wealth Transfer and Legacy Planning, which included coursework in complex strategies for asset protection, charitable giving, intergenerational transfers, and business succession. She has also worked on matters involving financial exploitation of clients, including reverse mortgage scams and annuities fraud, further expanding her knowledge of fiduciary risk and estate litigation.
During law school, Nia completed a judicial externship in the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, where she conducted legal research on testacy law, drafted judicial orders, and supported courtroom mediation. Nia also served as a student attorney in Northwestern’s Bluhm Legal Clinic, where she briefed an appellate matter involving a reverse mortgage scheme and supported ongoing litigation involving investment product abuse targeting seniors.
Nia earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2024 and completed her LL.M. in Taxation in 2025, with a certificate in Wealth Transfer and Legacy Planning. Prior to joining Burke Warren, she completed a one-year Northwestern Public Interest Fellowship at Ascend Justice as a staff attorney. There, she worked on an estate plan with an incarcerated survivor of domestic abuse who was granted medical release under the Joe Coleman Act. She also advised incarcerated survivors of domestic violence on family law and financial rights under state and federal law, including the Crime Victims’ Compensation Act and IRS guidelines.
