Won Summary Judgment in $12 Million Insurance Recovery Action for Construction Accident, Affirmed on Appeal

Won summary judgment in an insurance recovery declaratory judgment action in Cook County, Illinois, holding that our client’s insurers had a duty to defend and indemnify an additional insured under primary and excess CGL policies relating to a construction accident. The Circuit Court’s decision resulted in an additional $12,000,000 in insurance proceeds being available to resolve an underlying personal injury matter. The Circuit Court was affirmed in Axis Surplus Ins. Co. v. Allied World Assur. Co., 2025 IL App (1st) 240964-U.
