Blake Roter is a Partner at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. Blake serves as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Insurance Recovery practice group and is a member of the Litigation practice group. Clients trust Blake to understand their business and provide thoughtful, strategic advice to achieve their goals.
As a trial and appellate attorney, Blake regularly counsels clients in all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, from the initial factual investigation through mediation, arbitration and trial, representing Fortune 500 companies, public and private institutions, middle-market businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.
As a leader of the Firm’s Insurance Recovery practice group, Blake is dedicated to assisting insurance policyholders in disputes with their insurers for dilatory conduct, wrongful denial of coverage, insufficient provision of coverage, and bad faith. Blake has represented policyholders in a wide array of coverage disputes under Commercial General Liability (CGL), Directors & Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), Fiduciary, Professional Liability (PL/E&O), Property, Cyber and a variety of other types of policies. Blake represents public and private companies in numerous industries, including employee-owned companies (ESOPs), in real estate, hospitality, travel, manufacturing, logistics, service, financial, medical, pharmaceutical, education, municipal and non-profit fields. His experience as a litigator gives him the knowledge necessary to prepare every coverage dispute for litigation from the outset.
Blake has also represented clients in numerous types of complex commercial disputes over breaches of contracts, warranties, leases, and employment agreements, including non-competes, non-solicits, and confidentiality clauses, trade secret misappropriation, shareholder disputes, and business torts.
Blake also serves as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Summer Associate Committee and Associate Mentoring Committee where he is committed to associate hiring, training and development, which will allow Burke Warren to continue offering high quality legal services for years to come. He has also served for several years on the Firm’s Business Development and Marketing Committee.
Prior to joining Burke Warren, Blake served as the law clerk for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Blake maintains an active pro bono practice and has served on numerous local and national non-profit boards and committees.
