Burke Warren Elects Davis as Shareholder; VanderPloeg and Roter as Partners

Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. is proud to announce that partner Elizabeth Davis has been elected a shareholder of the firm, and associates Eric VanderPloeg and Blake Roter have been elected partners.

  • New shareholder Elizabeth Davis, who was recognized as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Illinois by Chicago Magazine, focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and general business counseling as a member of the firm’s Corporate and Health Care practice groups. She leads transactions for private equity and strategic investor clients across many industries, with a focus on logistics, insurance, food and beverage, manufacturing, and health care. Liz also acts as outside general counsel to domestic and international companies in all aspects of the commercial contracting process. Active in the firm’s leadership and management as well as the broader Chicago legal and business communities, Liz is a member of the firm’s Marketing, Lateral Partner, and Women’s committees, is a director and member of the executive committee of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Chicago, and is co-chair of the ACG Women’s Network.
  • New partner Eric VanderPloeg, who began his legal career as a summer associate at Burke, Warren, practices in the firm’s Litigation, Automotive Franchise, and Consumer Financial Services Litigation practice groups. Consistently named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers®, Eric focuses on litigation involving Chicago-area real estate owners and professionals, disputes involving motor vehicle dealerships, including employment, buy-sell, and franchising matters, manufacturing and sales disputes, and litigation between shareholders and business partners, including fiduciary matters and business divorces. 
  • New partner Blake Roter also began his legal career as a summer associate at Burke, Warren before serving as a law clerk for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and then returning to the firm. Blake is a trial and appellate attorney, who litigates complex disputes over contracts, trade secret misappropriation, and employment agreements, including non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality clauses in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Recently, Blake was named to the 2018 Double Chai in the Chi: Chicago's 36 under 36 list of talented, difference-making Jewish young adults and received the 2019 L'Dor V'Dor Award for Emerging Leadership from the Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation. Blake currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Standard Club, the Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Auxiliary Board of Reading in Motion.
