Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella Welcomes 2026 Summer Associates

Burke Warren is proud to welcome rising 3L law students Alexsaundra (Alex) Marin and Alex Meurer as summer associates in the Firm’s 2026 Summer Associate Program.

“We are excited to welcome our new summer associates to the Firm,” said Andrew LeMar, Summer Associate Committee Co-Chair. “Each year, we look forward to this moment—the arrival of talented, driven individuals who bring fresh perspectives, energy, and curiosity to our team.”

Alex Marin is a rising 3L J.D. candidate at Chicago-Kent College of Law where she has been involved in Chicago-Kent LAMBDAS, First Generation Law Student Society, the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and has served as a Student Advocate and Teaching Assistant.

Alex Meurer is a rising 3L J.D. candidate at Loyola University Chicago School of Law where he has been involved in Moot Court, the Consumer Law Review and IP Law Society, and has served as a legal writing tutor.

“Our summer associate program is a cornerstone our Firm’s long-term strategy and an essential expression of our culture, values, and commitment to excellence,” said Blake Roter, Summer Associate Committee Co-Chair. “Far more than a recruiting initiative, the program reflects who we are as a Firm and how we invest to be able to provide high quality legal services for the foreseeable future by providing a meaningful, immersive experience that mirrors the life of a junior associate. As a former summer associate who is now a partner recruiting the Firm’s next generation of lawyers, I know how formative that experience can be—not only in developing legal skills, but in shaping one’s understanding of what it means to a part of our Firm.”

Burke Warren’s Summer Associate Program runs for 10 weeks—from May to July—providing summer associates with valuable experience to prepare them for the responsibilities of practicing law. Our summer associates will receive a variety of substantive and challenging work assignments across many areas of the law. They will also receive spectator assignments, including attending hearings, depositions, negotiations, client conferences, and other client-related activities, while also enjoying social events and all that summer in Chicago has to offer.

We look forward to working with the next generation of legal talent and for their contributions across the Firm this summer.
