Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. is proud to once again be a member firm for the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, pledging financial support and legal expertise to advance CLC’s mission. The CLC works to secure racial equity and economic opportunity for all. It provides legal representation through partnerships with the private bar, like Burke Warren, and collaboration with grassroots organizations and other advocacy groups to implement community-based solutions that advance civil rights. Through longstanding partnerships with member law firms, it provides high quality legal assistance to clients and communities in litigation and transactional matters. It uses a broad range of advocacy tools that include direct legal services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, community education, and coalition building. Its current legal practice areas focus on education, housing, voting and civic empowerment, public safety, and community economic development. https://www.clccrul.org/

Efforts supporting the firm’s CLC membership sponsorship are spearheaded by Burke Warren partner Alexander Marks, who serves as the Burke Warren Pro Bono Committee Chair. The firm recognizes that certain segments of society cannot afford and do not have access to competent legal representation. Accordingly, the firm has made a strong commitment to providing pro bono legal services for indigent and at-need clients, including in the area of civil rights through its support of outstanding legal aid organizations like CLC.
