Morgan M. Hess is an associate in Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella’s Litigation group. Morgan earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Criminology and Law Studies from Marquette University, with a double minor in Writing Intensive English and Sociology, in 2016. She then earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, cum laude, in 2019.
During law school, Morgan was a Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing & Analysis and Introduction to Advocacy courses. Morgan was a writer for the Illinois Bar Journal and editor for the Elder Law Journal. She also was a peer advisor for the incoming 1L class in 2017 and a Women’s Law Society Mentor for 1L students.
Prior to joining the Firm, Morgan externed for the Honorable Debra B. Walker in the Circuit Court of Cook County and authored articles regarding diversity in the legal profession for the Illinois State Bar Association’s August 2017 publication of the Bench and Bar and the Illinois State Bar Association’s September 2017 publication of The Public Servant. She was a summer associate at the Firm in 2018.
